Air freight customs clearance at Delhi IGI and Bangalore BLR typically takes 24 to 48 hours for standard commercial cargo. For regulated goods — pharmaceuticals, electronics requiring BIS — allow 48 to 72 hours. TTI files the Bill of Entry before the aircraft lands to minimise clearance time.
When should I choose air freight over sea freight?
Air freight is the right choice when your cargo is urgent, high-value, perishable or below 150 kg where the speed justifies the higher cost. Sea freight is 4 to 6 times cheaper per kg but takes 6 to 26 days. For time-sensitive production parts, pharmaceutical cargo or urgent samples — air freight is the only practical option.
